Lexi Love’s glittering entrance on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 17
Joining the RuPaul's Drag Race family is no small feat, and season 17 queen Lexi Love knows she’s stepping —or skating— into some big shoes.

Following in the footsteps of season 15 winner and trans icon Sasha Colby, Lexi is ready to shine, literally, with her own unique flair and determination.
For her entrance into the Werk Room, Lexi rolled in with style—on roller skates—and has continued to impress both fans and competitors with her dazzling drag. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Louisville-based performer shared her excitement and nerves about competing on the show and representing the legacy of trans queens like Sasha Colby.
A glittering entrance
Lexi’s commitment to excellence is evident in everything she does. For her EW interview, she arrived covered head-to-toe in silver body glitter, a process that took a team of four nearly four hours to complete. Her glittering presence is matched by her confidence on skates, a skill she’s been honing since her middle school days.
“When I started skating, we’d be locked in the roller rink from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. It was the best thing ever,” Lexi recalled. “To bring skating into my drag feels like coming full circle.”
Roller skating isn’t new to Drag Race—season 8 alum Robbie Turner famously skated during a lip-sync—but Lexi plans to elevate the art form without breaking any light fixtures. “I want to smash barriers, not stage props,” she joked.
Carrying the torch for trans queens
Lexi is one of two trans queens competing on season 17, alongside Hormona Lisa. She admits that stepping into Sasha Colby’s legacy is both inspiring and intimidating.
“It’s nerve-racking because Sasha motherf---ing Colby was the last representation,” Lexi said. “She’s been my vision of what a successful queen is since I started drag, which was six months before Drag Race even aired. To be here, walking in her footsteps, feels overwhelming. I’m still early in my transition, and it’s hard to feel worthy of filling those shoes.”
Despite her self-doubt, Lexi’s history in drag proves she’s more than ready.
A legacy of excellence
Lexi’s drag lineage speaks volumes about her talent. Her drag dad, Mykul Jay Valentine, is a former Mr. Continental pageant winner, and she was personally named the official American ambassador to the House of Versace by RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner Krystal Versace. With 14 years of experience in the industry, Lexi has perfected her craft.
“A Lexi Love show is like watching a music video come to life,” she explained. “It has a beginning, middle, climax, and end. I tell a story and make every person in the audience feel special and loved. That’s what drag is about for me.”
As she continues her journey on Drag Race, Lexi is ready to skate, sparkle, and show the world why she’s a queen to watch. With Sasha Colby’s inspiration and her own drive for greatness, Lexi Love is poised to leave a lasting impression this season.
