Manchester United posts mocking message about Arsenal, fans upset with Arteta

Manchester United's thrilling penalty shootout win over Arsenal in the FA Cup third round has sparked intense debate among fans and pundits alike.

The match was filled with dramatic moments, including a controversial penalty awarded to Arsenal in the 69th minute when Harry Maguire was adjudged to have fouled Kai Havertz in the box. However, Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard saw his spot-kick saved by David de Gea, keeping the scores level.

Despite playing a man down for the majority of the second half following Diogo Dalot's red card, United held on to force extra time and eventually prevailed in a dramatic penalty shootout, winning 5-3.

Following the match, United's official social media channels posted a message stating, "Justice has been served," seemingly alluding to the controversial penalty decision and Arsenal's subsequent failure to convert from the spot.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his disbelief at his side's defeat, stating: "I cannot believe we didn't win this game. We were completely dominant throughout the match. The players don't deserve this result. We should have won this game comfortably but ended up going out."

United fans were quick to react to Arteta's comments, with many taking to social media to express their frustration. One fan, posting on the Utd District page, wrote: "On what basis does Arteta say that? Did Arsenal pay the referee extra for that penalty? This was a game where United played with 10 men against 12, including the referee. Arteta must be delusional about Arsenal's strength. He's lost his mind."

United will face Leicester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup, a match that will see Erik ten Hag face off against former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, who is now in charge of the Foxes.
