Ronaldo left stunned as Neymar earns €2.4 million per minute

After 6 years playing for PSG, Neymar left the French club to join Al Hilal in the summer of 2023. Foot Mercato confirmed that the former Barca striker is one of the 3 highest-paid players in the world at the moment.

According to Foot Mercato, in 2024 alone, Neymar pocketed 101 million euros in salary. The problem is that despite receiving a very attractive salary, the 32-year-old striker contributed very little to the defending Saudi League champions.

Due to injury, Neymar missed the entire 2023/24 season. In total, the Brazilian international only played 2 matches with a time of 42 minutes in 2024. According to Foot Mercato, Al Hilal has to pay 50.5 million euros for each match Neymar plays and more than 2.4 million euros per minute the former Barca and PSG star takes to the field.

On social media, fans also "teased" Ronaldo based on that. They said that compared to a Ronaldo who wants to play every game, wants to play 90 minutes every game, Neymar is too relaxed. Just "sit and eat" but every minute still has millions of euros.

Al Hilal seemed to have Neymar back in action in early 2025, but the former Barca star has yet to return. Neymar is definitely absent from Al Hilal's match in round 14 of the Saudi Arabia National Championship, when they face Al Orobah on January 11. Faced with Neymar's situation, Al Hilal is considering ending the contract with him when the season 2024/25 ends.

Second in the list of highest-paid footballers in 2024 is superstar Lionel Messi. The Argentine international pocketed 124 million euros last year.

The number 1 position in this list is none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. Receiving the highest salary in the world, the 39-year-old star earned 263 million euros in 2024.

Besides Ronaldo and Neymar, 2 other Saudi League players are also among the highest-paid football stars in the world now, Benzema (96 million euros) and Mane (48 million euros).

The remaining five players in the top 10 are Mbappe, Haaland, Vinicius, Salah and De Bruyne. Of these, De Bruyne is last with a salary of only 36 million euros.
