Timothée Chalamet Surprises as Musical Guest on SNL
Saturday Night Live has revealed its first hosts for 2025, kicking off with a highly anticipated lineup.
On January 18, comedian Dave Chappelle will return to host for the fourth time, accompanied by musical guest GloRilla. Chappelle has previously hosted memorable episodes, particularly after the U.S. presidential elections in 2016 and 2020, as well as a special appearance in 2022.
The following week, on January 25, Timothée Chalamet will take the stage as both host and musical guest, a unique twist for the popular actor. While Chalamet is not traditionally known as a musician, his recent roles have showcased his musical talents.
In the past year, Chalamet starred in two music-centered films: Wonka (2023) and A Complete Unknown (2024), the latter earning him widespread acclaim for his portrayal of Bob Dylan. For A Complete Unknown, Chalamet recorded over a dozen Dylan songs and performed 40 songs live during filming, playing guitar and harmonica. His dedication to live performance was evident, as he explained in a behind-the-scenes featurette, "It was important for me to sing and play live because if I can actually do it, why should there be an element of artifice? I'm proud we took that leap."
Chalamet's musical abilities have also been showcased during his previous SNL appearances, including performances in the popular "Tiny Horse" digital short.
Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT on NBC, with fans eagerly awaiting these upcoming episodes to see what Chappelle and Chalamet bring to the iconic stage.
